Yesterday as I took my breakfast, I turned on the TV, and started to flip through the channels.
I was a little under the weather so I decided to relax by watching TV.
As I flipped through the channels, I landed on a show titled “Don’t Drive Here” on Discovery Family. Now, this is one interesting show that will get you glued to your seat right from the moment you begin watching.
So, there was this particular episode that got my attention.
The show host was driving another gentleman’s Isuzu mini pickup lorry. But what surprised the TV show host was that the truck didn’t have proper functioning brakes, and yet it had a sticker that showed this car had successfully passed the road worthiness test! Trust me he was as surprised as we the audience was!
I won’t mention the Country but it was indeed surprising!
Anyway, have you got your car inspected at SGS? Some of us must be wondering what SGS is.

According to an article in The New Vision, SGS is the World’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. SGS Automotive is an independent and secure vehicle and automotive consultancy.
The company is currently working in association with the Ministry of Works and Transport to ensure that there are only road worthy and safe vehicles that are used on our roads, and to also help reduce harmful vehicle emissions.
The vehicle inspection stickers for private vehicles expire after a year.

On the other hand, bodabodas, Private Motor Omnibuses, trucks, owners of transport vehicles, rental taxis, tourist vehicles, and goods vehicles licensed by Transport Licensing Board must be inspected once every six months to ensure road worthiness because these vehicles are used more often than the rest.
The cost for inspection goes for 110,212 UG shs for a motorcar, and 54,752 UG shs for a motorcycle. This includes the Certificate which you get ONLY when your vehicle passes inspection.
Thank me later!
